Executive Chef
Brian has recently returned to the kitchen at 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille as Executive Chef, where he leads an experienced, successful culinary team in bringing the property’s award-winning cuisine to even greater heights. Brian originally assisted in opening 22 Bowen's in 2001 and was the first Executive Chef alongside fellow Executive Chef, Gary Jefferds.
Previously, in early 2009, Brian was promoted to the post of Chef of Culinary Development for Newport Restaurant Group, where he oversaw the professional development of all chefs and sous chefs at the company’s culinary and hospitality operations including: Castle Hill Inn & Resort, 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille, The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar, The Smokehouse Café, The Boat House, Trio restaurant, Waterman Grille, Blackstone Caterers and the Newport Yachting Center. He was also responsible for new concept development, recruiting, externships, and purchasing initiatives.
Brian is a three-time graduate of Johnson and Wales University with Degrees in Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management and Foodservice Education. He resides in Warwick, Rhode Island with his wife, Amber, their son Carter Joseph, and their Australian Shepherd.
