Jamie LaPlume
General Manager
A long-time hospitality veteran, Jamie first began his career working behind-the-scenes at The Chowder Bowl in Bellingham, MA. After graduating from Woonsocket High School in 1991, Jamie's passion for the hospitality industry was rekindled at The Capital Grille in Providence, where he worked as a bartender until 1995.
In late 1995, Jamie worked in North Palm Beach, FL, helping restaurateur Eddie D'Ambra open his restaurant, Eddie D's. Jamie stayed on as restaurant manager, splitting his time seasonally between Florida and Rhode Island, while also working as a manager at The Coast Guard House in Narragansett.
In 1999, Jamie returned to Rhode Island full-time to take classes at the University of Rhode Island, majoring in Business Management. It was during this time that Providence Hospitality Group's Ken Cusson and Jaime D'Olivera asked Jamie to join them at PHG, further honing Jamie's hospitality skills and exposing him to a high-end clientele including former President Bill Clinton and members of the Kennedy family.
In June 2001, Jamie joined 22 Bowen's Wine Bar & Grille as restaurant manager, responsible for day-to-day restaurant operations and in May 2005 he was promoted to General Manager. He oversees the financial and day-to-day operations, including menu creation in collaboration with the chefs, overseeing layout and appearance, and creating a level of serving excellence. Jamie now resides in Narragansett with his wife Beth and their son Alex. |
