With his generous creativity and focus on local products and culture, Kevin Di Libero strives to create a dining experience where the food is equally balanced with the restaurant’s atmosphere. His love and respect for food was instilled in him by his mentor, Raffaele Santrapaia from Capri, Italy, who trained Kevin for three years while he was studying at the Florida Culinary Institute. Here he received a degree in Culinary Arts.

Kevin began his culinary career while studying at the Florida Culinary Institute at Eddie D’s in North Palm Beach, FL as Sous Chef. Here he worked during 1997 to 1998 with then Eddie D’s Manager Jamie Laplume, who is currently General Manager of 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille, in Newport, RI.

Kevin took his career north to Rhode Island playing some vital roles in upcoming restaurants. From 1998 to 2001 Kevin worked at 1200 Ocean Grill in Narragansett as Executive Sous Chef. In 2001 Kevin began at 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille as Sous Chef during the restaurant’s opening. As well, he assisted in the opening of Pane e Vino on historic Federal Hill in Providence, where he held the role of Executive Chef for two years.

Kevin joined The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar, 22 Bowen’s sister restaurant, in 2004 as Sous Chef, where he brought with him his philosophy towards food and dining. In January of 2006 he accepted the position of Executive Sous Chef at Castle Hill Inn & Resort, also a sister restaurant to 22 Bowen’s. At Castle Hill Kevin played an instrumental role in helping the culinary team elevate their cuisine to a new level.

Kevin is currently Executive Chef for 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille where he leads an experienced culinary team in incorporating the restaurant’s award-winning cuisine with their award-winning wine list, helping to bring the 22 Bowen’s culinary experience to even greater heights.

Kevin currently resides in East Providence, RI with his fiancée Erin.
