Matt has been a part of the Newport Restaurant Group family for some time. Prior to being named Chef de Cuisine, he served as Sous Chef for 22 Bowen’s. In this position he worked closely with Executive Chef Kevin DiLibero in daily culinary activities, including menu creation, daily prep, ordering and inventory. Before that, Matt served as Sous Chef for 22 Bowen’s sister restaurant, the Smokehouse Café. Earlier in his career he was also Sous Chef at Bailey’s Beach, serving 600 covers per day, and during his final year there he was promoted to Executive Sous Chef and then Acting Executive Chef, where he gained experience in menu creation and execution.
Matt earned a B.S. in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. He currently resides in Newport, RI.
